All it took was an avoidable non-fact checking to ruin everything.
There is nothing new under the sun, says a popular saying. It is likely that Tomi Adeyemi, bestselling author of Children of Blood And Bones did not take that saying seriously.
Her recent reaction to veteran author Nora Roberts seemed to have annoyed fans of both authors. According to her, Nora stole her title.
Accordingly, titles are not trademarked unless it is a series. More so, Roberts has released the cover of the work in 2017, months before the release of her work but Tomi seems to have been oblivious of that fact.
Due to the name-calling from Adeyemi's fans, Roberts decided to address the issue in her blog
Fans all over the world have since been reacting to this development:
OMG, I can feel Nora Robert's pain through this blog post. @tomi_adeyemi, you are a disgrace to the writing community for what you've done to this poor woman who has been writing before you were born. https://t.co/AeEMgEpETA

I don’t know much about book titles but why didn’t she delete the tweet after the call?? Why didn’t she even reach out before ‘calling out’ Nora Robert on twitter??

Someone just said Tomi Adeyemi gave Nora Roberts clout and now I am convinced you people don't read and your only point of reference is Twitter.

Tomi Adeyemi can’t say she didn’t know who Nora Roberts is. Even those of us that are not avid readers know her. Renowned writer. Tomi was pure reckless with her tweet and as soon as she saw her mistake; she didn’t even delete her tweet. For a newbie in the game, she shot herself

"Others were upset" because your tweet inflamed them. The right thing to do in this situation is to delete the original tweet and this one. You are spreading false accusations and knowingly damaging a peer's reputation among readers.

Quite upset at Tomi Adeyemi because when aunty Nnedi what's her face came for her, I was livid
Now, she thinks that Nora Roberts who has been writing since before she was born, who announced her book tittle well before hers and one as common as Blood and Bone is trying to steal?
— Tee (@VillageGirl___) November 28, 2018
Some think otherwise:
Also, Nora Robert's popularity is not the reason to think of Tomi's complaints as absurd. Powerful people steal from smaller people all the time and use their power as a cover.

I don't understand people. @tomi_adeyemi has updated everyone on the issue and apologized to the only person who required one. All these people saying she should be grateful that Nora gave her the time of day
