Former governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose has asked Amina Zakari, a commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Zakari’s appointment as head of collation centres for the 2019 general elections, stirred heavy criticisms from Nigerians, over allegations that she is a niece to president Muhammadu Buhari.
According to Fayose, Zakari should reject the position because many “Nigerians are thinking that there is real likelihood of her being bias.”
The former governor made this known while speaking via Twitter on Saturday. Fayose said she should reject the position especially because she isn’t the only INEC Commissioner.
He wrote:
Even if Amina Zakari can be as impartial as she can be, nevertheless, now that Nigerians are thinking that there is real likelihood of her being bias, she should excuse herself. More so that she is not the only national commissioner in INEC.
