Mixed reactions have trailed the booing of President Muhammadu Buhari by members of the National Assembly.
The President on Wednesday, in a joint session of the National Assembly, presented the 2019 budget, amidst being cheered by his party members and being booed by lawmakers from the opposition party.
While making his presentation in a house led by an opposition party member, Bukola Saraki, Buhari was interrupted with chants of ‘lies, propaganda ’. Taking a break of his address, Buhari urged the booing lawmakers to behave properly, that the world was watching.
“May I appeal to the honourable members that the world is watching us and we’re supposed to be above this.”
Many Nigerians have taken to social media to react to the drama. While some scolded those lawmakers who booed the president, others gave them a pat on the shoulder, saying Buhari deserves what he got.

No point pretending or expecting anything meaningful from the National Assembly deliberations on the 2019 budget proposal.
It’s a pity though!

Today, a precedent has been set. I hope these shameless cry babies won't cry when opposition decides to disrupt every other president's budget presentation at the national assembly. Foolishness should have limit mbok.

If National Assembly lawmakers behave like this, what do we expect from motor park touts?

@MBuhari treated Nigerians & members of the National Assembly with disdain by refusing to sign the amended electoral bill into law.
Today, members of the National Assembly representing Nigerians also treated him with disdain while presenting the #2019Budget
Tit for tat.

Are these lawmakers selling tomatoes and crayfish in the National Assembly?
The joint session of the National Assembly (Senate and House of Reps) for the #Budget2019 Presentation is more noisier than the market place.

I totally condemn the action of National Assembly members booing President Buhari at the presentation of his #NextLevelBudget, it's unprecedented!! But it goes to expose to Buhari all the LIES his Ministers and Aides have been feeding him. Even this #Budget2019 is full of LIES!!

Couldn’t watch the #Budget2019 live but with the tweets, the National Assembly members represented its people truly with the boos and hisses which stood for dissatisfaction.

Whatever Buhari got today at the National Assembly serves him right.
This is what you get when you have lying Aides who can't even stand up and tell you the truth.
I believe after today he'll see the damages he has done to this country.#Budget2019
