In spite of the fact that Uche Jombo’s directorial debut, Heaven On My Mind, is yet to begin its cinema run, some eager Nollywood fans have been suggesting on social media that the movie may just be another Christian film.

But the notable Nollywood actress and producer, who teamed up with another veteran actress, Ini Edo, to produce the movie, has clarified that it is not a Christian movie, but one that was inspired by real life story.

Although Uche said the title might be the reason a lot of people think it is a Christian film, she urged her fans to wait to see the movie when it opens on December 7 to reach a conclusion.

She said: “I keep hearing this over and over from people saying that the movie is a Christian film and I know why that is. It is because of the title, but you only need to see the film to realise that it had nothing on Christianity or any religion. It is simply a human story.

“The idea came from a real life story I heard, which was corroborated by another source and we had to invite someone who had a similar experience. That was how we developed the story and the script.

“For me, it is more about human stories. I love to make stories I can feel and others can as well. So, to clear the doubt, Heaven On My Mind is not a Christian film, but a human story.”

Billed for release in major cinemas in the country on December 7, the highly-anticipated movie, which began pre-production late last year and finished filming in March this year, is the first collaboration between the two talented actresses as co-producers and would be released under their film companies, Uche Jombo Studios and Minini Empire Production.

However, Uche, who has had her fair share of cinema runs in several collaborations with top filmmakers, including Desmond Elliot, Emem Isong and more, is making her first full feature and directorial debut with Heaven on My Mind, which stars talented actors and actresses, such as Uche herself, Ini, Mercy Aigbe, Ray Emordi, Andrea Chika Chukwu, Femi Adebayo, Adunni Ade, Eric Ogbonna and Yvonne Nwosu.
