What better way to show appreciation to the Nigerian Hair Industry than to host a one of its kind thank-you event for partners, distributors and hair stylists. That was exactly the case when Japanese synthetic hair company, Kanekalon, hosted a very robust number of guests at its 2018 Arigato Stylists Event following the footstep of 2017, but only making it even more glamorous and enjoyable.
The event which took place on the 3rd, November 2018 at the Times Square Event Centre, Lagos had partners; Darling and X-pression showcasing hair attachments extensions in various beautiful colours.
Invited guests were members of the five hair associations, partners, saloon owners and hair distributors. Also in attendance was Stephanie Iloabachie, Treasure Obasi, Miss Kanekalon 2018, 1st runner-up of Miss Kanekalon 2018 respectively.
To begin the event was an experiential display; comparing Kanekalon hair with other competitors especially the flame retardant feature, after which MC’s Bella Rose and Mario thrilled the audience with delightful jokes and comedy.
Yemisi Omojafor, Deputy Managing Director, STB MCCANN LAGOS (Kanekalon advertising agency and a member of the MCCANN Worldgroup) officially welcomed guests with a heartwarming speech. He reminded stakeholders at the event that Kanekalon has been at the forefront of manufacturing quality synthetic hair fibre. And continued that in all the years that Kanekalon has been in Nigeria, the support from partners and respective key players have been tremendous.
Stephanie Iloabachie, Miss Kanekalon 2018, and the 1st Runner Up, Miss Kanekalon 2018, Treasure Obasi delighted guests with a short history of the Kanekalon brand and the Kanekalon Pageant, giving details of their experiences since becoming Kanekalon ambassadors. They spoke of the many benefits of Kanekalon and the many opportunities it has given them. They also gave insights into the Kanekalon features, especially flame retardant which is not seen in other hair products.

The Kanekalon beauty pageant is a yearly event where young and innovative ladies team up with creative stylists to enter for the chance to be Miss Kanekalon. The pageant is one of a kind as it not only rewards pageant queens, but also their stylists.
There was also a creative display by the hair associations after which in appreciation, gifts were presented to them. Speaking on the presentation, the Manager, Kanekalon Group, Kaneka Corporation, Sohei Nishida and the Head, Kanekalon Group, Kaneka Corporation, Tetsuya Kato, acknowledged the various hair associations for their great support of the Kanekalon brand and recognized efforts of partners, distributors and stylists in making Kanekalon a household name in Nigeria.
Afterwards, partners Darling and X-pression presented their new products using members of the invited guests as models, while giving sample products for guests to try out. There were also interactive sessions by the hair associations who created new styles at the event made the audience name the hairstyles.
The evening ended on a thrilling note as guests enjoyed jokes, camaraderie and an evening of dance.
