The fiesta, which was well attended by family and friends, saw Greater Tomorrow FC of Ajah defeated Right FA of Mainland of Lagos by three goals to one goal in the boys’ category, while Jokers Queen FC from Ikeja beat St. Mary FC of Abeokuta, Ogun State 2-1 in the girls’ class.
Speaking at the event, the Secretary of Lagos State Grassroots Soccer Association, Mr. Aliu Olawale Ganiyu, commended the organisers of the event for the successful staging of the fiesta.
He said the late (Dr.) Justice Taslim Elias was the first academia to be made the Chief Justice of Nigeria, having been a professor and dean of Faculty of Law at the University of Lagos.
The chairman of the association, Rev. Paul Freeman, and other members of the executive committee were also on ground to make the event a memorable one for the entire Elias’ family.
The events, which took place under the auspices of Lagos State Grassroots Soccer Association, however, promised to make next year’s edition more colourful and elaborate, in terms of participation and prizes to be won.
