KWSUBEB debunks story on teaching jobs

Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB) has debunked a publication that applicants for the 1,850 new teaching jobs announced by the government need endorsement of their ward chairmen.

The chairman, Alhaji Abdulkareem Lambe, stated yesterday in Ilorin that the recruitment was driven by established need and would be based on merit rather than political patronage.

He disclosed that the applicants were only required to submit their applications to the Local Government Education Secretary of SUBEB in their respective councils and not ward chairpersons.

Lambe added that, in line with the directive of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, the board would follow due process.
