popular person in Nigeria because of Buhari's
action
Reno Omokri, the former media aide to former
president Goodluck Jonathan, has accused President
Muhammadu Buhari of making Nnamdi Kanu popular.
Omokri, in a tweet he made on Friday, May 26,
claimed that if the president had not order the arrest
of Nnamdi Kanu, he wouldn't have become one of the
most popular men in Nigeria at the moment.
"The worst thing PMB could have done was jailing
Nnamdi Kanu. He is responsible for making him one
of the most popular men in Nigeria today!"
Nnamdi became a hero after spending close to two
years at Kuje prison.
The order to arrest Nnamdi Kanu came from
president Buhari, and Kanu who was incarcerated for
almost two years become more famous among pro-
Biafra agitators during his stay in prison.
Popular Nigerian politicians, leaders have visited
Kanu in his Abia home since he was released on bail
from the Nigerian prison.
Meanwhile, members of Ohanaeze Youth Movement,
on Friday, May 26, visited Kanu in his home and declared him the new leader of Igbo.
Newslanded learnt that those in attendance were Mazi
Okechukwu Isiguzoro, Deputy President Arthur
Obiora, Secretary General Okwu Nnabuike among
others.
Arthur said: “This visit was borne out of the fact that
we now have in you a new Igbo leader. You have
indeed stepped out to wear the shoes left by Dim
Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.
“We hail your courage, dexterity and plead with you
to steer on leading the struggle for the emancipation
of Ndigbo.”
